ChitoGauze® XR pro haemostatic dressing has been specially developed for stopping massive bleeding. During our FAUD course we teach the students the basic skill woundpacking. In this way, ChitoGauze® XR pro can best be used. ChitoGauze® XR pro is a sterile, Z-folded mesh that is easy and quick to use. It is latex-free and can be found in a wound thanks to the blue X-ray detection strip.
Within the relief services, wound packaging is often chosen if no tourniquet can be constructed. Think of bleeding in the neck, armpit and groin. The technique is extremely important to achieve success. After the insertion of the gauze, direct pressure must be maintained for three minutes on the wound. Blood through the wound then the operation with a new gauze once again to be performed.
